I am proud to have David Bonior’s name stand by mine in this campaign. One of my first political experiences was knocking on doors for David many years ago. He always fought for Michigan families, our unions, and our workers. He was a commanding presence in Washington, and his leadership kept Michigan on the map. That’s the kind of leader I will be for Michigan’s 11th District when I get to Congress.
Stevens, whose previous endorsers include the Teamsters and former Rep. Mark Schauer, leads the Democratic primary field in fundraising with over $650,000 raised in 2017. Her campaign was recently named as one of TIME Magazine’s “10 Races to Watch” around the country.
Michigan’s 11th District was named a “toss-up” race following Rep. Dave Trott’s retirement, and a recent poll by Patriot Majority USA showed a 45-42 Democratic lead in the district.
